Europe opens higher after sell-off

Major European stock markets opened with gains on Tuesday after the previous day's sell-off as investors focused on incoming earnings and economic data. Bayer reported results before the bell, while economic sentiment figures from the Eurozone are due for release later in the day.

The FTSE 100 rose 0.62% at 9:01 am CET with Melrose Industries jumping 2.88%.

The DAX climbed 1.27% at 9:02 am CET. The best performer was Delivery Hero, whose shares surged 2.96%.

The CAC 40 jumped 1.14% at 9:01 am CET. Airbus, up 2.35%, led the gains.

The euro lost 0.07% against the dollar to sell for 1.05514 at 9:04 am CET, while the pound traded flat against the US currency, going for 1.23357 at the same time.
