US opens higher ahead of Biden's inflation remarks

Major stock market indexes in the United States opened higher on Tuesday ahead of President Joe Biden's speech about his administration's plan to combat the rising inflation. The Federal Reserve's Christopher Waller and Loretta Mester, as well as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, will also give their assessments of the current economic situation, influenced heavily by Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened 1.43% or 459 points higher as The Walt Disney Company increased by 3.06%. The Nasdaq 100 advanced by 2.81% or 340 points, with Seagen Inc. surging by 8.15%. The S&P 500 rose by 1.89 as Duke Realty Corporation skyrocketed by 16.35%.

The euro stood flat against the dollar, selling for $ 1.05580 at 9:31 am ET.
