Crude prices soar, Brent, WTI both up over 2%
The prices of crude oil further increased on Monday as gasoline futures in the United States reached a new record high, surpassing $4 a gallon. Meanwhile, positive sentiment was pushed by news Shanghai confirmed plans to lift COVID-19 restrictions from June.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for deliveries in June surged 3.32% at 2:12 pm ET to sell for $114.16 per barrel. A minute later, Brent for inventories in July grew by 2.46% to go for $114.31 a barrel.
