Asia higher despite Wall Street losses

Major stock markets in Asia-Pacific traded higher on Tuesday, despite Wall Street extending losses yesterday. Investors are seemingly showing fewer concerns over the global economic recovery and high inflation.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.36% at 7:13 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite adding 0.81% a minute later. At 7:15 am CET, South Korea's Kospi Composite grew 0.80%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 2.21% at the same time.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was up 0.23% at 7:15 am CET. Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 0.45% a minute later. The dollar traded 0.16% higher against the yen at 7:16 am CET, selling for 129.36450.
