US industrial production rises 1.1% in April

Industrial production in the United States rose 1.1% in April when compared to the previous month's figures, the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors revealed in its report published on Tuesday.

Manufacturing output gained 0.8%, in comparison to March 2022, and went up 5.8% on an annual basis. Mining was up 1.6% month-on-month, and 8.6% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, utilities increased by 2.4% on a monthly basis, and 7.5% year on year.

Capacity utilization for the total industrial sector climbed up from 78.3% in March to 79% in April. In comparison to the last year's April figures, when it recorded 74.8%.
