Eurozone annual inflation stable at 7.4% in April

The euro area's yearly inflation remained stable at 7.4% in April compared to the previous month, slightly slipping estimates, according to a final report published by Eurostat on Wednesday. In the European Union, the figure rose to 8.1%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.6% in the euro area.

The highest inflation rates were recorded in Estonia (19.1%), Lithuania (16.6%), and Czechia (13.2%), while on the other hand, the lowest growth of consumer prices was seen in France, Malta (both 5.4%) and Finland (5.8%).

The highest contributors to the annual inflation in the Eurozone came from energy (3.7 percentage points), services (1.38 pp), food, alcohol & tobacco (1.35 pp) as well as non-energy industrial goods (1.02 pp).
