G7 to provide $19.8B in aid to Ukraine

The Group of Seven's (G7) financial leaders agreed on Friday to help Ukraine with $19.8 billion and announced further potential donations to help it close its financing gap due to the ongoing conflict in the country.

According to the statement, the G7 pledged to support Ukraine with further financial assistance of up to €9 billion to "ensure the delivery of basic services to the people."

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner announced yesterday Germany will donate €1 billion in grants to Ukraine, while the United Kingdom disclosed its intent of providing £1.3 billion in military aid to Ukraine earlier this month.
