Dow drops 200 pts as inflation fears bite

Shares in the United States turned to losses on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 200 points after having started in the green.

Without major announcements or data reports since the start of the session, the sentiment was seemingly prompted by a reemergence of worries tied to inflation and future moves by the Federal Reserve.

The Dow Jones dove 204 points, or 0.65%, at 11:07 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 slid 0.78% at the same time. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was 0.62% in the red. A minute later, the euro was down by 0.29% compared to the dollar, selling for 1.05548.
