Russia halts Finland's gas supplies

Russia's Gazprom has decided to stop gas exports into Finland, due to the country's non-compliance with Moscow's request that energy purchases by EU states must be carried out in rubles. the Finnish major gas operator Gasgrid noted in a statement.

"Gas imports through the Imatra entry point have been stopped," the Gasgrid statement read, with Imatra being the entry point for Russian gas into Finland.

"Natural gas supplies to Finland under Gasum's supply contract have been cut off (...) Starting from today, during the upcoming summer season, Gasum will supply natural gas to its customers from other sources through the Baltic connector pipeline," the state-controlled gas operator Gasum also noted.
