Albanese wins Australia's election after Morrison concedes defeat

Australian Labor Party leader Anthony Albanese (pictured) has won the federal election in the country, making him Australia's 31st prime minister.

The opposition leader addressed his supporters after receiving a concession call from outgoing Scott Morrison, who was running for reelection. "Tonight the Australian people have voted for a change," said Albanese. "My Labor team will work every day to bring Australians together, and I will lead a government worthy of the people of Australia," he promised.

Saturday's Labor victory ended nine years of conservative rule in Australia.
