Australia's ties with China to remain "difficult" - PM

The newly sworn prime minister of Australia Anthony Albanese stated at a press conference on Monday that Canberra's relationship with Beijing will continue to be "difficult."

"The relationship with China will remain a difficult one (...) It is China that has changed, not Australia and Australia should always stand up for our values, and we will," Albanese noted.

Earlier today, the Reserve Bank of Australia assistant governor Christopher Kent said that the central bank will in the coming period cut its bond purchasing program, due to the visible recovery of the country's economy regarding the labor market and the stabilization of interest rates.
