Poland ends Yamal gas pipeline deal with Russia

Polish Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskwa (pictured) announced that Warsaw has decided to end the intergovernmental agreement it had with Russia over the Yamal–Europe natural gas pipeline due to that country's military operation in Ukraine.

"Russia's aggression against Ukraine has confirmed the Polish government's determination to become completely independent from Russian gas was right. We always knew that [PJSC] Gazprom was not a reliable partner," Moskwa tweeted. The partners in the agreement, signed in 1993, were Gazprom andPolish Oil Mining and Gas Extraction SA (PGNiG).

Earlier this week, Russia decided to halt the delivery of its gas to Finland.
