Warships may be used to secure Ukraine's grain trade - Lithuania

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis (pictured) said on Monday that warships could be used to secure grain transportation from Ukraine to the countries that need the export.

Landsbergis did not exclude the formation of a coalition of NATO countries or nations that would need the grain to protect its transportation from Odessa to the Bosphorus. Asked whether this would mean an escalation, the minister said that "it would not signify an escalation" because it does not represent a direct involvement in the military operation.

"There has been already a debate, but I think that time is coming where we need to find solutions," concluded Landsbergis. Earlier, The United Kingdom Prime Minister stated they would ensure Ukraine could export grain and other national food products.
