Zelensky: Ukraine in talks on grain export corridor

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Monday that Ukraine is in talks with Western allies and the United Nations to negotiate a maritime corridor through which it could export its grains. Currently, Russia is blockading Ukraine's Black Sea ports, stopping Ukraine's substantial food exports from leaving the country.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum, Zelensky accused Russia of stealing Ukraine's grains and smuggling them to other countries. He said Kiev is considering railway transport and talking to neighboring states about the possibility of using their ports, but "there can be no simple solution with a neighbor like Russia." He also proposed the formation of an organization of food exporters "who can act with respect for human rights and global trade rules" in order to prevent future food crises.
