Fed's Bostic: Impact of 'Ukraine war' yet to be felt

Atlanta Federal Reserve President Raphael Bostic said on Monday, speaking at an event in Atlanta, that the full effects of the "war in Ukraine" are yet to be felt adding that the country continues to be a further source of "uncertainty" for the Fed.

Bostic asserted that the "upward price pressure for industrial inputs" is still to be expected due to the current situation in Ukraine. He underscored that "the Fed needs to be ready to either move faster or slower depending upon data and how the economy reacts."

Bostic stated that although the bank might need to go "super hard" on the rate hikes, that is not the baseline. He further added that he sees "diversity of views" among the Fed members when it comes to the "inflation outlook."
