Europe closes lower amid data, Ukraine

Major European indexes ended the session on Tuesday with losses, after data reports. Eurozone's composite PMI declined in May to reach 54.9. Moreover, the United Kingdom's business activity recorded the lowest figures in 15 months in May. Meanwhile, Germany's composite PMI saw a monthly increase to stand at 54.6.

The EU underlined that Kiev "must win this war" and that Moscow's "aggression" must end in "strategic failure." Germany shared that it will be impossible to predict the costs of rebuilding Ukraine, as long as the conflict with Russia continues.

The DAX declined 1.80%, or 255 points, at the closing bell, with Hellofresh leading the losses, shares of which plummeted 9.13%. At the same time, the CAC 40 plunged 1.66% as Publicis Groupe nosedived 7.13%. The FTSE 100 fell 0.39% at the close, with Wpp decreasing 9.23%.

The euro added 0.39% against the dollar at 5:30 pm CET, selling for $1.07325. On the other hand, the pound traded 0.54% lower against the greenback to go for $1.25206 at the same time.
