The Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group, led by Walmart Inc. heir Rob Walton, has reached a deal to buy the Denver Broncos from the Pat Bowlen Trust, the NFL franchise announced on Wednesday.
According to the United States media, the transaction is valued at $4.65 billion, which, if confirmed, would be the largest deal ever for a US sports franchise.
Rob Walton, Walmart's chairman from 1992 to 2015, is the eldest son of Sam Walton, the founder of the world's largest retailer.
