Asian markets jump in afternoon trading

Markets in Asia-Pacific rallied in Friday's afternoon trading as investors digested inflation data from Japan. Stocks mirrored positive sentiment from Wall Street after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said that a recession is not "inevitable."

The Nikkei 225 climbed 1.21% at 7:06 am CET. The dollar lost 0.11% against the yen to sell for 134.7955 at the same time.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 1.74% at 7:07 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.64% at 7:06 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite rose 1.03% at 7:00 am CET.

In South Korea, the Kospi Composite surged 2.09% at 7:08 am CET, while Australia's added 0.41% at the same time.
