Russia supports Argentina's plan to join BRICS

Russian President Vladimir Putin's adviser Yury Ushakov (pictured right) revealed that Moscow expressed support for Argentina's plan to join BRICS on Monday, emphasizing that the country is optimistic about expanding the organization.

During the press conference, Ushakov stated that allowing Buenos Aires to join the alliance must be approached "carefully," stressing the importance of determining procedures and requirements for potential BRICS candidates.

Previously, the Russian president stated the country is open to integrating banks from the five partnering countries via the Russian MIR payment system for electronic fund transfers and to expanding the use of national currencies at the last meeting of the organization.
