Poland to hold Gazprom accountable for gas halt - minister

Polish state asset control minister Jacek Sasin said in a conference on Tuesday that Warshaw considers Gazprom halting of gas supplies to the country unlawful and will take legal steps to gain compensation for the incurred losses.

He noted that Poland plans to hold Gazprom "accountable for this decision." "It can't be that this type of decision is made unilaterally, without grounds in the contract, and we don't react," he added.

Sasin underlined that the contract Warshaw signed with Gazprom is valid until the end of 2022, which legally obliges the Russian gas giant to continue its supplies to Poland.
