Ex-WH aide: Trump didn't care if rallygoers had weapons

Cassidy Hutchinson, who served as an aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, testified on Tuesday before a congressional panel that ex-United States President Donald Trump was aware that some people who attended his rally on January 6, 2021, had weapons but still requested metal detectors to enter the Ellipse in Washington DC to be removed.

Hutchinson claimed that Trump said: "You know, I don’t f-ing care that they have weapons" and that he added: "They’re not here to hurt me. Take the f-ing mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here. Let the people in. Take the f-ing mags away."

The January 6 Committee was formed to investigate allegations that Trump incited violent riots and the attack on the US Congress after losing the 2020 presidential election.
