Japan's consumer confidence slips in June

Japan's seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index decreased in June when compared to the figure seen the previous month, dropping by 2 points to land at 32.1, according to a report released on Wednesday by the country's Cabinet Office.

The overall livelihood index dropped by 2.6 points from the previous month to reach 29.8. The employment index decreased by 1.6 points compared to May's figure, coming at 37.4. The income growth indicator was down by 1.6 points, to stand at 35.8, with the willingness to buy durable goods falling by 2.6 points, to land at 25.3.

The percentage of survey respondents who revealed they expect the prices to rise in the upcoming year dipped by 0.2% in June, while 2.2% of survey respondents saw the prices going down, adding 0.7% from the previous month, while 2.3% of survey respondents claimed they see the prices remaining at the same level in June.
