Russia: No Lavrov, Blinken meeting planned for G20

There are currently no plans for a one-on-one meeting between Moscow's chief diplomat Sergey Lavrov and United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken during the Group of 20's (G20) forthcoming summit, Russian Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated on Wednesday.

Speaking on the current state of relations between Moscow and Washington in the midst of the crisis in Ukraine, Ryabkov said the US has still not informed Russia about the tanker it reportedly stopped on its way to New Orleans. He also commented on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) plan to expand and labeled it as "destabilizing."

The next summit of the G20 will take place in Bali, Indonesia, on November 15 and 16. The Kremlin confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to attend the event in case it is held in person. It was later announced Lavrov will go to the summit as well.
