EIA: US crude inventories down by 2.8M barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not taking into account those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, decreased by 2.8 million to 415.6 million barrels in the week ending June 24, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed in its report published on Wednesday. The oil inventories for the week ending June 17 fell by 2.76 million barrels.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 16.7 million barrels per day, up by 403,000 barrels per day from the average recorded the prior week. Refineries operated at 95% of their capacity, while gasoline production increased, averaging 9.5 million daily barrels.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 6 million barrels per day, 0.2 million barrels per day less than the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories increased by 6.3 million barrels.
