UK's GDP rises 0.8% in Q1

United Kingdom's gross national product (GDP) rose by an unrevised 0.8% in the period from January to March (Q1), the Office for National Statistics reported on Thursday.

According to the report, the country's real GDP remained 0.7% above its pre-COVID19 level in Quarter 4 of 2019, with the largest contributors to economic activity increase in Quarter 1 were information and communication, as well as transport and storage.

Furthermore, household consumption expenditure grew by 0.6%, while gross fixed capital formation climbed by a revised 3.8%.
