Erdogan: NATO must strive to end tragedy in Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that NATO has "total" support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Erdogan warned the alliance must express this support with a "vision of peace" and should "strive to end the humanitarian tragedy." He added that efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire in Ukraine must be intensified. The Turkish president also stressed Ankara plans to continue talks with Kiev and Moscow to ensure corridors for the export of Ukrainian grain become operational as soon as possible.

Reflecting on Turkey's memorandum with Sweden and Finland, Erdogan noted the three countries vowed to fight "all forms of terrorism" and that Sweden promised to extradite 73 "terrorists" to Turkey. Still, he warned that the agreement will not be ratified by Ankara in case Sweden and Finland don't fulfill their promises.
