American Honda worried on supply issues despite sales

American Honda stated Friday that sales in the second quarter exceeded 500,000 units while emphasizing serious supply problems during that time.

In a report published by the company, Honda said that electric vehicle sales remain robust. The CR-V Hybrid set a record in June and Accord Hybrid sales in the year's first half were up by 39%.

"With strong turn rates of up to 90 percent for core Honda and Acura products, it's clear that success is a relative term in today's business environment and sales volume is not the best measure of true customer demand," said Mamadou Diallo, Vice President of Auto Sales for American Honda Motor.
