SAS pilot plan strikes as talks continue on Monday

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) chief negotiator Marianne Heraesen told the reporters on Saturday that the negotiations between the company and its pilots are ongoing, setting Monday as a deadline to find a solution.

The airline's dispute with pilots who want to be rehired following pandemic layoffs has yet to be resolved, according to the Swedish Pilot Association, adding that if talks fail, nearly 1,000 pilots in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway plan to strike, potentially stranding 30,000 passengers per day.

The union demanded that SAS stop using subsidiaries for staffing, with the airline company employing SAS Link and SAS Connect as staffing companies after 560 pilots who were laid off during the pandemic were not re-employed.
