Asia trades mixed after Albanese remarks

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded with mixed results on Monday after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that Canberra will provide an additional $74 million for bolstering up Ukraine's military defenses against the Russian onslaught.

Japan's Nikkei 225 was up 0.58% at 4:30 am CET, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.81% at the same time. Simultaneously, South Korea's KOSPI Composite also went down 0.26% as Australia's S&P/ASX 200 increased by 1.27%.

On the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange traded flat at 4:15 am CET, while the Shenzen Composite rose 0.46%. At 4:30 am CET, the dollar was down 0.15% against the yen, going for ¥135.0390.
