Zelensky: 22M tonnes of grain blocked in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed on Monday that approximately 22 million tonnes of grain are stranded at Ukrainian ports. The figure is expected to reach 60 million tonnes by fall.

During a joint briefing with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson in Kiev, the head of state stated that diplomatic efforts are being made to ensure that the countries do not buy grain from Russia, which it "had stolen at blocked Ukrainian ports."

Zelensky reaffirmed that negotiations with Turkey and the United Nations are "ongoing," and that the country is working on various export routes, both rail, and river, adding that the exports are increasing every day, despite difficult conditions.
