Asian markets mostly higher after data

Stocks in the Asia-Pacific traded mostly higher on Tuesday after Japan and China released their PMI figures that signaled an expansion in both of the countries' service sector activity.

Investors in the region are also awaiting the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) monetary policy statement and interest rate decision, slated for 6:30 am CET.

At 4:55 am CET, South Korea's Kospi Composite increased by 1.07%, as Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.28%. The dollar went 0.36% up against the yen to go for ¥136.1435 at 4:57 am CET and the Australian S&P 200 added 0.15% at the same time. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite decreased by 0.21% at 4:54 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite down by 0.91% a minute later. Japan's Nikkei 225 inched 0.82% higher at 4:35 am CET.
