Johnson confident he will remain prime minister

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson assured on Wednesday he will remain the government's head despite the fact that more than 30 members of the parliament canceled their support for his government, many of whom have also called for the prime minister to step down.

"I'm happy to tell you that I'm getting on with the job that I was elected to do, and that is what I'm going to do," Johnson stressed, answering the question of Liaison Committee Chair Bernard Jenkin during his hearing. Johnson also noted he does not see how it could be reasonable to walk away at this point, given the entire situation with Russia and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Conservative Party's 1922 Committee has reportedly changed rules during the day, thanks to which it will be possible to hold another no-confidence vote against Johnson, even though one had already been held earlier this year.
