US oil inventories up by 3.82M barrels - report

United States crude inventories increased by 3.82 million barrels in the week ending July 1, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Wednesday.

Reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, allegedly rose by 459,000 barrels. Meanwhile, gasoline stockpiles dropped 1.81 million barrels. In addition, distillate inventories fell by 635,000 barrels, according to the reported data.

West Texas Intermediate for August deliveries lost 2.66%, to go for $98.42 per barrel at 4:26 pm ET, while Brent for settlements in September slid 4.32%, selling at $100.27 per barrel at the same time.
