Asia trades mostly higher after Wall Street gains

Asian stock markets were mostly higher on Thursday after their United States counterparts closed above the flatline the day before. In other news, Samsung said earlier in the day it expects its sales and operating profit in the second quarter of fiscal 2022 to increase, while the US and UK brought out allegations about China's industrial espionage.

The Nikkei 225 rose by 1.59% at 7:15 am CET. The Shanghai Composite was up 0.60% at 7:00 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index increased 1.05% at 7:15 am CET. The Hang Seng was flat a minute later. The Kospi jumped 2.17% at 7:16 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia advanced 0.59% at the same time.

The dollar was 0.10% lower compared to the Japanese yen at 7:17 am CET, trading for 135.8055.
