Turkish envoy summoned over Russian ship - Ukraine

A Russian ship carrying "stolen" Ukrainian grain has been allowed to depart from the Turkish port of Karasu, in what the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has referred to as an "unacceptable situation."

The Turkish ambassador to Kiev has since been summoned to give an explanation for such a decision, given the evidence of "criminal activity" being presented to the Turkish authorities by Ukraine. "We regret that Russia’s ship Zhibek Zholy, which was full of stolen Ukrainian grain, was allowed to leave Karasu port despite criminal evidence presented to the Turkish authorities," the foreign ministry's spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Russia is claiming that the ship was simply "undergoing standard procedures."
