US crude inventories up by 8.2M barrels - EIA

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not taking into account those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, increased by 8.2 million to 423.8 million barrels in the week ending July 1, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed in its report published on Thursday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 16.4 million barrels per day, down by 228,000 barrels per day from the average recorded the prior week. Refineries operated at 94.5% of their capacity, while gasoline production rose, averaging 10.3 million daily barrels.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 6.8 million barrels per day, 0.8 million barrels per day more than the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories increased by 5.1 million barrels.
