West obstructs export of Russian grain - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the West of obstructing the export of Russian grain to the countries that have "contracted it from Moscow," commented the foreign minister folllowing the G20 meeting in Bali on Friday.

"Statistics show very clearly that the grain that is locked in ports in Ukraine is less than 1% of world production, so it does not have a real impact on food security," said Lavrov, adding that Moscow is ready to negotiate the issue of Ukrainian grain with Kiev and Ankara. The Russian foreign minister stressed that the naval forces are crucial in the negotiations for grain exports from Black Sea ports.

The energy and food crises, according to Lavrov, "were the result of an adventurous, ill-conceived, and erroneous Western policy," which included the forced implementation of the so-called "green transition" in energy. Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed that an agreement on grain exports from Ukraine is expected soon.
