EIA: US crude inventories down by 0.4M barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not taking into account those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, declined by 0.4 million to 426.6 million barrels in the week ending July 15, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) shared in its report published on Wednesday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 16.3 million barrels per day, down by 321,000 barrels per day from the average recorded the prior week. Refineries operated at 93.7% of their capacity, while gasoline production increased, averaging 9.4 million daily barrels.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 6.5 million barrels per day, 0.2 million barrels per day less than the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories rose by 1.1 million barrels.
