Grain deal to unblock 80 ships in Ukrainian ports - report

The agreement on grain, expected to be signed in Istanbul, between Ukraine and Russia, will unblock 80 ships from Ukraine's ports, TASS reported on Friday citing a source.

According to the source, the deal will allow for around 25 million tons of grain to be released to the world markets. "One of the most important components of the agreement on the grain corridor was security guarantees for dry cargo ships so that they could freely leave Ukrainian ports," the source stated further.

Meanwhile, Turkish TV channel Haberturk shared that the agreement will be signed by the heads of the military departments of the two countries, adding that Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu already arrived in Istanbul.
