Santander to venture into crypto
Banco Santander SA will offer its clients in Brazil crypto-related services, CoinDesk Brasil reported, citing Santander Brazil CEO Mario Leao.
According to the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, Leao said the bank will launch a feature in the coming months that will provide crypto trading in Brazil, following in the footsteps of many other non-crypto financial companies, such as Nubank and PicPay.
"We recognize that it is a market that is here to stay, and it is not necessarily a reaction to competitors positioning themselves, it is simply a vision that our client has demand for this type of asset, so we have to find the most correct and most educational way to do it," Leao was quoted as saying.
