First ship of grain departs from Odessa to Lebanon - Turkey

Turkish Ministry of Defense said on Monday that the first ship loaded with grain departed from the Ukrainian port this morning, with a consignment of corn bound for Lebanon.

"It was agreed for the Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship named Razoni, which is loaded with corn, to depart from the Odesa port at 08:30 in the morning on August 1 to go to Lebanon," the ministry said, adding that other ships will be deployed "within the scope of the determined corridor and method."

Previously, the Joint Coordination Center (JCCC) in Istanbul was established as part of a signed agreement between Russia and Ukraine to secure export shipments from Ukraine's Black Sea ports to the global market. However, Ukraine's harvest could be cut in half this year as a result of the country's war with Russia, warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
