Bayer Q2 sales jump 18% to €12.8B

German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG revealed its earnings report for the second quarter of 2022 on Thursday, recording an increase of 18.1% in sales, amounting to €12.8 billion.

The company stated in the press release that net income from continuing and discontinued operations fell 87.2% to €298 million year over year. Meanwhile, earnings per share (EPS) plunged by 87.4% to €0.30. The group's adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) before special items rose 30% annually to €3.3 billion.

"Group sales and earnings were only marginally impacted by the war and its direct consequences in the second quarter. We also do not currently see any material financial impact in full-year 2022," noted the report.
