Kiev, Moscow in tit for tat battle on Zaporozhye attacks

Both Ukraine and Russia continued to blame one another for attacks on the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye on Friday.

Russian Defense Ministry stated that Ukrainian forces continued to shell the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in an attempt to provoke the Russian army to fire back, adding that radiation leaks so far have been avoided only due to luck.

On the other hand, Energoatom, the Ukrainian state nuclear power plant operator, wrote on its Telegram account, that Moscow troops fired at the plant with rocket launchers for the second time today. Energoatom underlined that risks of hydrogen leakage and sputtering of radioactive substances remain high, while "the possible consequences of hitting an operating reactor are equivalent to the use of an atomic bomb."
