Musk invites Twitter CEO to debate on spam, fake profiles
World's richest man Elon Musk invited Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal to a "public debate" to discuss the problem of spam and fake accounts on the platform, as the business faces a drawn-out legal battle over a $44 billion takeover.
Regarding the controversy surrounding the media's phony accounts, Musk claimed that the social media "obstructed him" by providing "outdated and a fake data set." Earlier in the day, the billionaire tweeted a poll asking his followers whether they thought 5% of Twitter users were "fake/spam."
In a previous statement, Elon Musk said that Twitter Inc.'s $44 billion acquisition would only proceed if the company disclosed its verification process for determining if Twitter accounts are legitimate.
