US inflation expectations fall in July - NY Fed

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York revealed on Monday that median one- and three-year-ahead inflation expectations in July dropped by 0.6 and by 0.4 percentage points from the previous month to 6.2% and 3.2%, respectively.

"Expectations about year-ahead price increases for gas[oline] and food fell sharply. Home price growth expectations and year-ahead spending growth expectations continued to pull back from recent series highs. Households' income growth expectations improved," the New York Fed specified.

At the same time, median five-year ahead inflation expectations decreased by 0.5 percentage points to 2.3%.
