Raimondo: US to construct semiconductor ecosystems

United States Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said in a speech on Tuesday that the US will no longer rely on foreign power supply, as it intends to construct semiconductor ecosystems in the country. Raimondo added that semiconductors power everything in the US economy and that new ecosystems will provide well-paid jobs for millions of Americans.

She proceeded to thank US President Joe Biden for his leadership, and US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her persistence and commitment regarding the new CHIPS and Science Act 2022 that the president will sign into law today.

"America can get things bipartisan when it matters," concluded Raimondo while thanking the Republicans who helped pass the bill.
