Fed's Bullard: Too early to say inflation has peaked

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President and CEO James Bullard remarked on Tuesday to MNI Market News that it is still "too early" to say that inflation has peaked.

Bullard added he wanted to get inflation rates to between 3.75% and 4% by the end of the year and observe the first quarter of 2023 in order to evaluate whether further hikes are necessary.

"I think the destination is a little bit higher than what I would have thought even a couple of months ago because inflation has continued to broaden out and doesn't look like it's turning the corner at least based on the evidence we have today," he concluded.
