War began with Crimea, must end with its liberation - Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his late-night video address that Russia's war on Ukraine, which began with Crimea, must end with Crimea and its liberation.

"The presence of Russian occupiers in Crimea is a threat to entire Europe and to global stability," Zelensky asserted, adding that "the Black Sea region cannot be safe while Crimea is occupied."

Zelensky noted that "there will be no stable and lasting peace on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea," as long as Moscow is able to use the Crimean Peninsula "as its military base."
