Asia-Pacific trades lower on China's inflation data

Major stock markets in Asia-Pacific traded lower on Wednesday following data reports. Inflation in China in July jumped 2.7% on a yearly basis, rising from the June reading of 2.5%. Meanwhile, Japan reported that its producer prices in the same month soared 8.6% year over year. On the earnings front, traders will be keeping an eye on quarterly reports from Lenovo, Toshiba and Honda.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.13% at 4:07 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite lost 0.36% a minute later. At 4:09 am CET, South Korea's Kospi Composite tumbled 0.79%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 1.05% simultaneously.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 decreased 0.07% at 4:09 am CET. Japan's Nikkei 225 declined 0.67% a minute later. The dollar traded 0.06% lower against the yen at 4:10 am CET, selling for 135.06850.
