Honda's Q1 revenue up 6.9% to $28.4 billion

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced on Wednesday that its sales revenue in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023 went up by 6.9% on an annual level to reach ¥3.829 billion, or approximately $28.359 billion.

On the other hand, the company's operating profit declined by 8.6% compared to the same trimester the year before to ¥222.2 billion, or about $1.645 billion. Meanwhile, its diluted earnings per share (EPS) attributable to owners of the parent fell by 32.31% year-on-year to land at ¥87.23 per share, or approximately $0.64 per share.

Honda cited the shortage of semiconductors and the lockdown in Shanghai imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19 for a decrease in some of its figures. It also noted that the outlook for the rest of the year "remains uncertain mainly due to the impacts from the semiconductor supply shortage and the inflation."
